Called out to an oven fault in Osmington, Dorset. After a proper look, multiple components had failed, and repairing them would have cost nearly as much as a new oven with a warranty. The customer was told exactly that.
They opted for a new Hotpoint electric oven, which we installed: disconnecting the old unit, preparing the space, fitting the new appliance, testing it, and talking them through how to use it.
Repair or replace?
As a rough guide, repair usually makes sense for appliances under 5 years old with a simple fault. Replacement is usually the better call once repair costs exceed half the price of a replacement, or the appliance is older with multiple issues.
