Blocked filters and vents
A clogged lint filter or a blocked, kinked vent hose restricts airflow and the dryer simply cannot move enough warm air through the clothes.
Heating element
If the drum turns but the air stays cold, the element or a thermostat has failed. That is a repair job rather than something to poke at, as the element is on the mains.
Overloading
Too much in one load stops air circulating properly.
